YEARLY FUNDRAISING EVENTS

Afternoon Tea

This tea is held every year in the middle of May to honor Haiti’s flag day. It began as a casual family gathering to honor the day, but quickly gained popularity with supporters. In 2016, it evolved into an afternoon tea. This event helps us share the foundation’s mission and is used as a fundraiser to pay for the yearly summer camp program in Bainet. At this gathering, ginger tea (a specialty of Haiti) is served along with a variety of other teas, Haitian cuisine, and pastries. The student beneficiaries of foundation scholarships call during the event to sing Haiti’s national Anthem to the guest. Attendees receive memorabilia made in Haiti as door prizes.

An Evening of Music and Hope for Haiti

This dinner, held in the fall every year, is the foundation’s annual fundraiser event. Attendees receive YTD progress report, plans for the upcoming year as well as a 5-year outlook. The event involves dancing to Kompa music and eating delicious Haitian cuisine. A silent auction featuring Haitian fine art as well as crafts made by the women of CEPROFAM in Bainet are also part of the event.
